Step-by-Step Recipe
Step 1: Prepare the Baati

  1. Mix wheat flour, semolina, ghee, and salt in a bowl.
  2. Knead into a stiff dough with water.
  3. Divide into lemon-sized balls.
  4. Bake in an oven at 180°C for 20–25 minutes or roast in a traditional tandoor/baati cooker
    until golden brown.

Step 2: Cook the Dal

  1. Wash and soak the lentils for 30 minutes.
  2. Pressure cook them with turmeric and salt until soft.
  3. Add cumin seeds, hing, onion, and ginger-garlic paste to ghee in a pan and sauté.
